Case Report of Avena sterilis subsp. sterilis ACCase Herbicide Resistance in Southern Spain

چکیده

Wild oats are worldwide grassy weeds that cause substantial yield losses, particularly in winter cereal crops. In addition, wild oat herbicide resistant cases have increased; indeed, up to 52 been registered. Despite this, no described Spain, where farmers and technicians reported poor efficacy sterile (Avena sterilis subsp. L.). A dose-response experiment was conducted comparing the behavior of two populations A. from southern Spain a susceptible population. These were collected commercial farms low chemical control had described. Clodinafop-propargyl Pinoxaden tested as active ingredients experiment. Additionally, an alternative herbicide, which consisted mixture Mesosulfuron-methyl Propoxycarbazone-Na, also at field dose. The studied provided factor higher than 10 for 4 Pinoxaden. total achieved plants treated with Propoxycarbazone-Na.

Non-target Site Tolerance Mechanisms Describe Tolerance to Glyphosate in Avena sterilis

Sterile wild oat (Avena sterilis L.) is an autogamous grass established in warm climate regions. This species has been used as a cover crop in Mediterranean perennial crops during the spring period prior to initiating competition with the main crop for water and nutrients. However, such cover crops need to be controlled (by glyphosate or tillage) before the beginning of summer period (due to th...

Comparison of Various Sampling Methodologies for Site Specific Sterile Wild Oat (avena Sterilis) Management

The ability to manage weed infestations in a spatially precise manner will rely on the availability of efficient methods of mapping weed distributions. We have conducted a study designed to compare four different ground based methods for collecting georeferenced information on sterile wild oat infestation in a winter barley crop. Sampling was done at harvest time (when wild oat panicles are mos...

Controlling annual weeds in cereals by deploying crop rotation at the landscape scale: Avena sterilis as an example.

Weed control through crop rotation has mainly been studied in a nonspatial context. However, weed seeds are often spread beyond the crop field by a variety of vectors. For weed control to be successful, weed management should thus be evaluated at the landscape level. In this paper we assess how seed dispersal affects the interactions between crop rotation and landscape heterogeneity schemes wit...

Running head: ACCase mutations and herbicide resistance in Lolium species

The acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase)-inhibiting cyclohexanedione herbicide clethodim is used to control grass weeds infesting dicot crops. In Australia clethodim is widely used to control the weed Lolium rigidum. However, clethodim resistant Lolium populations have appeared over the last five years and now are present in many populations across the Western Australian wheat belt (Owen et al. 2007...
